Seven months have 31 days, four have 30, and February has 28, or 29 in a leap year.

The Knuckle Trick
Make a fist and point at your first knuckle: that is January, 31 days. The dip after it is February, the short month. The next knuckle is March (31), the dip is April (30), and so on. When you run out of knuckles after July, start again on the first knuckle for August, which is why July and August both have 31 days.
Knuckles are 31-day months. Dips are 30-day months, except February.
