Find the exact age, or any time span, between two dates in years, months and days.
How it works
How Age Is Calculated
Age is counted in whole calendar units. First we find the most recent birthday on or before the “age at” date; that gives the years. Then we count whole months after that birthday, and finally the days left over.
Because months have different lengths, two people born a few days apart can show different month and day counts on the same date. The totals (months, weeks, days) are exact and do not depend on month lengths.
Questions About Age Calculator Between Two Dates
How do I calculate age between two dates?
Enter the date of birth and the date you want the age at (today by default). The calculator counts whole years, then whole months, then the remaining days.
How is age counted for someone born on February 29?
In common years we treat February 28 as the anniversary, so someone born on February 29, 2000 turned 1 on February 28, 2001. Some legal systems use March 1 instead; the difference is only ever one day.
Can I calculate age at a past or future date?
Yes. Change the “Age at” date to any day, for example to check how old someone was on their wedding day or will be at retirement.
How many days old am I?
The “total days” tile shows exactly that. Hours are the total days × 24.
